And Bill Clinton ran with it perpetuating decades of winner take all , dog eat dog ,cruel Neoliberal Economic Violence inflicted upon the populace.

Not to mention the extreme damage Obama did to the working class with his happy to bailout banks while sitting back allowing them to foreclose on anyone they wanted even if they had paid their mortgage every month but were caught in the bundling chaos! He botched the recovery!

I think some do but they tend to be more local than national. At that level it's hard for an honest person to make it through the for-profit system. Gotta get money out of elections for things to change...

The very idea of "small government " to cover up for corrupt spending of tax dollars was of evil genius - instead of blaming themselves they blamed the government which they ran! Reagan also ushered in the media as friendly partner rather than neutral opposition
