Sometimes women hold back out of fear of being called overreactive or hysterical. Like, if we were to say that what Trump is doing is eerily similar to Hitler in the 1930s. So I’m being very careful with my words here: what Trump is doing is eerily similar to Hitler in the 1930s.https://twitter.com/TheAtlantic/status/1262482357774409730 …

I thought you’re Jewish? I don’t think that we should be comparing anyone to the monster Hitler. It isn’t right.

It’s so very right comparing present people with past people. How on earth can we learn from the past if we shy away from it? I’ve had family killed by the nazis and to remember that and compare our present time is to keep their deaths from becoming meaningless.

Well, that’s perfectly alright and you’re entitled to your opinion. Personally I think that comparing an American politician to Hitler trivializes the Holocaust.

Are you under the impression that something like that “couldn’t happen here?”

I’m a Jew. The last thing I would ever do is trivialize the holocaust.
