Let's be real the United States was never founded or rooted in any equality. Slavery, allowing only certain owners of land to vote initially, the Senate, Electoral College, etc., are not equality.

Exactly... it's tricky when the roots themselves are not grounded... the foundation is not strong. there are so many people who have never known equality.... for generations... There is a certain unacknowledged hypocrisy... I wonder how we heal from that...?
