It’s often said people have to bottom out before they’ll be open to fundamental change. A crisis takes us to our knees & we know we can’t keep doing things the way we’ve been doing them. That’s the end of that which was destroying us & the beginning of that which will heal us.

I wonder if this also applies to political parties that have lost their way and turned their backs on the basic tenets of public service and decency. When party leaders repeatedly fail to self reflect on the reasons for failure, I'm not very optimistic that healing is possible.

To me that’s a very, very legitimate point. And as soon as I know for sure that Donald Trump has been denied a second term, I’m down for it.
