We spend 50-60 cents of every $ on war-related activity even though infrastructure and education give us more return on the investment. That’s why they’re trying to put billions of dollars of aid to defense contractors into the next coronavirus bailout plan. Never even discussed.

Our country has largely been spared the agony of war on our homefront. All of Europe, in contrast, has endured horrific war. Americans get a great return on our investment.
600,000 people died in the Civil War. We have not been spared war on our home front.
