1/ We have allowed too much horror to be normalized. I know we can’t stay in a constant state of outrage, nor should we. I know it’s exhausting and easier to just throw up our hands at a certain point. To turn to humor like jokes about the disinfectant comment.
2/ But the unnecessary suffering of tens of millions of people who can’t pay the rent or buy food now is something none of us should shut up about. We must refuse to shut up. The crumbs being thrown to those not fortunate enough to already have cake to eat is outrageous.
3/ We must always bear witness to the agony of others, or when the agony is ours there will be no one to bear witness for us.
It is as though “they” throw us a few crumbs in the form of a one time payment of $1,200 as a token of goodwill — Clearly, “they don’t care.”

This current plight that is extended to so many in times of crises, is just more of the same for so many others. Some are in shock, and others are like; you finally noticed? The since has been broken. Open. Your. Eyes. Please.
Suffering is what happens when we shape our lives around a way of life created by people who destroy us & our planet for their own greed & power. We need to define a way of life where we provide for ourselves & each other without participating in their harmful systems.
We haven't even recieved our stimulas money. Our landlords are the most patient and loving people and we are eternally grateful for that. But we have no internet for our teen to homeschool and a light bill at 1600.00. We are terrified.
I think us poor folk can do better under stress conditions, than a bunch of shitheads who get whatever they want. We know how to survive.
