To stand up for the most traditional pillars of American democracy - from freedom of speech to justice for our citizens to electoral integrity - is to risk being labeled a left wing extremist. The biggest challenge in America today is to avoid the temptation to simply give up.

Sorry, but left wing extremists don't really believe in freedom of speech. They believe in freedom from hearing speech they don't like. Big difference.

Uh, yes. Safe spaces, banning speakers, the list is almost endless. That is not freedom of speech, that is covering your ears and hoping the people you don't like go away.
