Since the oil industry is running out of places to store their unwanted product...perhaps we should just keep it in the ground. Forever.

What about the young men and women working in the oil fields supporting family, putting kids through college , supporting elderly parents. Throw em to the wolves????

Not at all! “A just transition” refers to transitioning from a dirty to a clean economy repurposing all those talents towards the development of green energy. With no one allowed to fall through the cracks.

But these people got no other training and are in late 40 mid 50’s. Everyone talks about diversify and transitioning but it never comes to fruition. My daughters friend is attending mun paid by her father, not burdened by student loans. Tell him his job is gone?????

Energy companies and governments have a responsibility to help workers transition in a way that is humane. There will be lots of opportunities in the green economy.

How many people will leave the good paying jobs in Chrysler and other car factories promised of jobs with electric cars. They will grow old before this happens. The oil is helping so so many people to live a life supporting family.
