We just need to get the money out of politics. At this point it’s unreasonable to think we’re going to be able to overturn Citizens United anytime soon, so we need a constitutional amendment establishing public funding for federal campaigns.
Marianne Williamson is a strong advocate of public funding for federal campaigns.
This amendment should also limit costs & duration of all political campaigns to 6-8 weeks like in the rest of the world - to minimize the opportunities for corruption wherever possible. The current system is an absurd waste of time & resources designed to serve the donors.
The media makes millions and millions off the advertising. They depend on it; a long campaign cycle is to MSM’s advantage.
That’s how it is in Canada. And none of this campaigning for years BS either. It’s a set period of time and a set amount of funding.
IMO, nothing is more important than getting money out of politics. If we can get money out of politics, that’s when we can truly transform this country for the better. We also have to do something about the state media, that’s dividing this country.
