The Declaration of Independence says God gave us “unalienable rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.” That governments are instituted to secure those rights, and if government is “destructive of these ends” it is “the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it.”

With humility and care, protecting what has worked and is good, yes. With hubris and recklessness to change for changes sake, no. It is intentionally difficult to make sweeping changes because we are simply not that smart but we think we are.
