I'd say that if we, en masse, sit out the elections, that invalidates their results; especially if at the same time we commit to a programme of general strikes, mass civil disobedience, and otherwise throwing ourselves on the gears of this system to grind it to a halt.
It absolutely would not invalidate their election. It would simply give it to them.
I think you underestimate how much this system requires our participation to perpetuate itself. If the DNC didn't cave to our demands, it would prove they're more concerned with self dealing than obeying the people, and we could divest.
More to the point, I think you're underestimating the power of effective resistance to get what we want, and overestimating electoratism. We need a Tahir Square moment; we need civil disobedience and a spirit of real resistance to oppression to animate our movement.
The DNC has proved that they are owned by corporate overlords, the managerial class, their billionaire enablers; they are more concerned with preserving their own power than obeying their constituents. We need to divest from them and invest in mass disobedience.
