Scientists have a voice in Washington, but they lack political power. They lack financial leverage - their advice doesn’t often increase short term corporate profits - and it’s money, not wisdom, that runs DC. Until we get the money out of politics, such insanity will prevail.

The obvious solution is to elect scientists. We must restrict all candidates by intelligence. Nobody with an IQ<150 should be permitted to lead a Great Nation.

Yes... And: They're so locked into identity and this narrative of scarcity (there's not enough resources and thus competition is necessary) by the sunk cost fallacy that the only way they'll ever change is if they have no other choice.
How do you convince a man the world is a sphere? Make him walk in one direction. By the time he returns he may at least believe it's a cylinder. I that sense I'm grateful for this pandemic, it's finally forcing those trapped by their fears to confront their false beliefs.
