Yup, just because they wanted to forcefully restrict supply to keep the equilibrium price high. It's such a waste of good food that could've been processed further. Like milk into butter, yogurt, cheeses. Why waste it?

Whoa, ok. That could work. Me and my wife are growing a garden. I know not everyone can do it. But you’d be surprised how little resources are needed and those with more can give to others. It can be healing for the receiver and the giver.
