George Washington warned us against political parties, saying it would create factions of people more concerned with their faction than with their country. Those placing the will of the DNC before the will of the people are doing exactly what he warned us against. It’s ludicrous.

Not really in it for tit4tat Marianne but it was specifically James Madison AND Alexander Hamilton in the Federalists 9 and 10.  "The Utility of the Union as a Safeguard Against Domestic Faction and Insurrection".They were warning Washington of his very establishment politics.
