The system we have now is not guided by compassion, it is guided by amoral economic principles. The shadow side of American capitalism is literally an unsustainable organizing principle for a survivable 21st century. Ethics and concern for the common good must be our bottom line.

First line in econ book: “the primary objective of a business is to maximize profit” Amorality as a core value system. Cannot continue. Cannot, must not.
Even Adam Smith said “free market capitalism cannot survive outside an ethical context.” Since the 1980’s, trickle down economics has disconnected capitalism from any sense of moral or ethical responsibility. It has corrupted our democracy; it’s time to choose another way.

Lot of cultural ignorance to overcome. Ppl have embraced their humanity, identity as ‘consumer.’ Under 40 probably have to be the change makers - and gain access to political, media power QUICKLY. But ppl like you describing, inspiring toward what matters most is central imo.
