This is the coming-of-age event no one saw coming. It’ll be hard to retain a politically immature perspective after this, to assume we’re protected from any manner of other disastrous possibilities either. From nuclear safety to environmental safety it’s time for a whole new way.

I think a whole generation of us forgot that some day we were going to have to grow up and be in charge of our collective well being. There is a gap now between the old guard and the new that shouldn't have been there. We have to take responsibility for that.

I agree! I’ll be 51 in May and for most of my adult life although educated and involved in helping mankind did not really pay attention to what my responsibilities were as a citizen of the USA. I was getting through my life, someone else will handle the country’s things! No more!
