This has huge ramifications. The voices of the powerless are then considered illegitimate & not worth covering or amplifying. Mouthpieces of the powerful are given the royal treatment and everyone is told they are the keepers of the truth. This is how power maintains itself. 2/2
It’s not just the powerless. It’s anyone who doesn’t agree with their worldview.
If we do not find a loving way to counteract this, the desperate will rise up, only to be crushed and give Trump what he needs to create a police state. End of US democracy.
This is my deep concern.
The last time something like this happened on a large scale, the revolutionary war started. England saw the world or at least this part of it as taxable without representation. We didn’t. Let’s hope we can do this revolution more peaceably than our 18th century counterparts.
