Why is it so hard to mass produce millions of masks? Seems some company would be happy to make a huge profit, or charity for visibility, from mass producing millions of masks overnight, or even within a couple days. Is it just a cost thing? Am I missing something?
The president could use the Defense Production Act to direct their immediate manufacture. He has had the power all along but refuses to use it for fear of offending the old adage, “If it’s not for profit, why would we do it?”
