Many people have asked me what it was like during the AIDS crisis. It was much like this. And also like during that crisis, this gives all of us an opportunity to determine who we really are. We can face this thing with fear, or we can face this thing with love. It’s our choice.

If you talking about getting azt approved. Yes. Very appropo analogy to healthcare for the poor and testing for all. Same blindness to common sense. The fear at the onset of the epidemic. I lived in sf bay area. The disinformation snd downright ignorance was prob. Worse.

The death toll for healthy ppl in their prime. Far worse. The stigma is still attached to one specific community. However. The economic loss in terms of in hand wealth? Covid 19 is about unmatched. Aids didnt punch the eorld economy into a recession. Its looking like this will.
