The American people have been trained over the last few decades to expect too little. Universal healthcare & easy access to higher education is what the citizens in a prosperous society should expect and do expect in other countries. It’s part of our “right to pursue happiness.”
The reason we don’t have universal healthcare or free higher education is so the marketplace can continue to rule. But that’s economically self-defeating for the country. When people are healthier & more educated, they’re more productive and by definition add more to the economy.

The pursuit of happiness is defined as a fundamental right mentioned in the Declaration of Independence to freely pursue joy and live life in a way that makes you happy, as long as you don't do anything illegal or violate the rights of others.
Healthcare is not a right, it is a basic need that everyone is free to pursue. This means that the government cannot infringe on our right to pursue health care but no one owes us health care. Health care is a good just like clothing, food and shelter.
But... uneducated people are easier to control...who wants to have population capable of critical thinking?

... don't have medical care. Many live through the man made disaster that is our healthcare system every day. We can do better. We must do better.
Enlistment is the only way healthcare and higher education are available to many. They are enticements. Otherwise dept of "defense" would be understaffed and you can't have that in a military economy.
In an Ideal world that would be the case, this is only about the benefits to the 1%, and the more DESPERATE the majority is, the better for that 1%, everybody will be DISPOSABLE, either work for less and less or be replaced by someone else...
