We need a new layer of the Me Too movement. Me Too I have been minimized, Me Too I have been classically devalued, Me Too I have been trivialized, Me Too I have been patronized, Me Too I have been insulted. The arrogance, not to mention ignorance of my work here is almost amusing https://twitter.com/SorenCSorensen/status/1233808842582040583 …

Men and women are minimized, men and women are devalued, men and women are trivialized, men and women are patronized, men and women are insulted. It's important to call out certain things truthfully.

I think the point is men and women do not have these things done to them in the same way, intensity and proportion. As you say, it's important to be truthful.

But part of the collective story that we have created is misogyny. The story of what it means to be human that we all tell ourselves is the patriarchy, is rape culture, misogyny. What are humans but the stories we tell of who and what we are?

Marianne, I hate to say it but I think it IS part of the "human condition" for people to project their mother issues onto women, which can lead to misogyny. Whatever their origin, we do need to look at our reflexive judgments against others in order to evolve past them.
