Many of the people yelling “Bernie could never beat Trump!” know in their hearts that maybe he could - but they themselves don’t want it so they’re just saying that. “He’s too extreme!” What an age we’re living in, that healthcare and education and justice for all seem “extreme.”

His proposals aren't extreme and neither is his commitment to telling some hard, moral truths. What makes him a genuine risk for the DEM party is his past. He's said some very extreme things, on camera. They make him a hard sell, and they DO threaten the down ballot candidates.

Oh Marianne. The Cuba comments, which *I* understand from 1970s times in lefty circles, and his defense of them, have enraged a lot of ppl. His Cold War days trip to Soviet Russia. And his comments afterward. Not knowing "all the nickels and dimes" There's plenty more.

The Cold War ended 30 years ago. Anyone who seriously still votes based on the specters of Castro and Lenin are voting straight-ticket Republican anyway
