Biggest problem with misuse & abuse of US military power is it leaves us w/out moral authority to apply it when it’s the right thing to do. We should use force when:US is directly threatened, an ally directly threatened, or humanitarian order of the world is directly threatened.

You had me until the last bit. "Humanitarian order" can, and has, been used to justify any number of unnecessary military interventions. I wish you would use your platform to advocate for a more restrained foreign policy, rather than just channeling neo-con/neo-lib orthodoxy.

Ok....so how is "protecting the humanitarian order" any different from what the neo-libs and neo-cons say? Invade Iraq? Yes! Saddam is a threat to regional peace. Overthrow Assad? Have to! He gasses his own people! Stay in Afghanistan forever? Yes! The Taliban is anti-women.
