Difference between reparations & race-based policies is that reparations carry moral authority. They mean acknowledgement of a debt owed & willingness on the part of a people to pay it. That brings psychological, emotional & spiritual healing that actually interrupts the pattern.
But we don’t just need another “study.” We need to put a plan on the table already, negotiate a number and appoint a reparations council of descendants of American enslaved persons to disburse the funds. Nothing less will free us from the continuing trajectory of systemic racism.
Honestly, I don't actually know that many blacks who feel strongly about reparations.Dealing with institutional violence & race based inequality concerns many of us much much more. A check is easy & to me a pat on the head. But we're not a monolith.

No candidate on the #DemDebate2020 stage tonight is for #Reparations including @TomSteyer. If you believe that reparations should be paid then you pay them, you don't form a commission to study how to tell people they need to be paid.
The commission is apart of the team who will develop the ways&means to executing, so I see that but Executive Order can be the task to complete this without Congress! People who live here pay taxes for things they don’t even realize they pay for. 1st priority is ADOS!

Records where kept of property and no black immigrants in America prior to 1965. It's very easy to go back to the 1960 census and remove immigrants students. That is the list, all black Americans with ancestors on that list qualifies. It's simple.
