Personally I think all of us being angry at Trump has given him his power. Keeping him in our thoughts, in our news, in our business. We should never have given him so much air time. If we stop talking and thinking about him maybe he'd just dry up and blow away.
And would we say that about Stage 1 cancer? That if we just ignore it it will go away? Some things expand BECAUSE we ignore them. To ignore totalitarianism is to feed it. And he’s president of the United States: “not giving him air time” is not an option.
ignore might not have been the right word. I think we should not be thinking thoughts that give him power. Meaning if we stoop to his level of thought in hating him we are giving him power. Ignoring the hate is what I should have said. Because we can't let him continue to harm.
