There's so much wrong with our schools. Teachers teaching at light speed to meet the standardized testing goals. Small children with daily homework after long days in class. Burnout of kids in single-digit ages. I am watching school destroy my daughter's innate love of learning.

I agree. If you haven’t already, see Michael Moore’s film “Where to Invade Next.”

(1/3) I went to one of those underserved elementary schools that required us to buy our own school supplies. When it was time to buy the school supplies, my mother had to buy the cheapest school supplies that she could find.

(2/3) As a child of divorced parents, my mother had to choose between feeding my sister and I or buying the school supplies that we both need in order to learn in school. Both my sister and I couldn't focus in school because we worried about whether or not we had food at home.

This is so true. It will improve the future when every school in America is a palace of learning, culture & the arts.
