I live in Alabama. I have a drivers license. I have to show my drivers license to vote. Since 1992, I have voted in all elections that I’ve wanted to. Why is voter ID such an issue in some places?

Voter suppression exists when illegal voters are allowed to vote in national elections. Also when non citizens are counted to determine delegate assignments in national elections. They money flowing to the states gives incentive to pad the rolls and count.

Also Machine voting is unsecured and there is often little chance of audit beyond rereading the machine tally. Ask Mitt Romney about voting machines—really ask and look at his financial interest there. This is cheapening the franchise.
