“If the USDA’s latest proposal is formally adopted, it would lower some requirements on the volume and variety of fruits and vegetables offered to students.” Nothing a more egregious example of putting corporate profits before people’s well-being. Come on now! We are pizza, fries, and spaghetti and cheesesteaks for lunch as kids and we turned out fine. Can’t force kids to eat healthy. They just need more physical activity.

You think we turned out fine? Check out how much higher our rate of chronic illness is compared to people in other countries of comparable wealth.

That’s due to single family kids who don’t eat properly at home. I would eat with mom and dad and we had home cooked meals. These kids are left alone due to parents working 60hours or broken homes. Kids don’t do after school athletics or sports. We discourage these activities

Its a fact that kids are already overweight, high cholesterol, higher blood sugar and way less active. The USDA is a farce. Parents are going to outlive their kids.

Dope, the cafeteria in my HS served fried chicken, corn, green beans & cornbread. The star running backs Mom was the mgr. so she would give me extra chicken because I blocked for her son. They made homemade cinnamon rolls that we could buy in the mornings. #perfecthealth

I am 51 and most of my friends turned out fine. We used to bring Halloween candy to school and pig out. Kids now a days are LAZY. Who wants a 2 bananas and a salad at lunch. We need carbs and protein for fuel for kids. We pussyfied kids now a day’s.

Candy and fried foods, i.e., sugar and saturated fat, do not fall under the carbs and protein category.

I am 56. No chronic illness. Most of my life I have believed my body functions properly without "help" from big pharma. I eat right (didn't always as a kid), exercise regularly (250-300 min/week). Kids and adults today are obese. We eat crappy and sit.

Other countries have chronic illnesses too. You're not the brightest star in the galaxy but give you credit for trying.
