The jr. high texted us one day & said there would be heavy police presence at school because of a threat they "thus far" believed was unsubstantiated. I took my 12 y/o granddaughter out of school, but she sat at home worried about her friends who's parents didn't pick them up.
Think of where you work. Now think of what it would be like if there was a pattern of mass shootings at such a place.Think of what how that would affect you emotionally and psychologically every day you went to work. Then imagine what that would feel like if you were 12 years old

Sometimes I think people don't have empathy anymore but I think it is precisely our empathy that makes us shut down & try to shut out these problems. It's too much to deal with when you can't see a solution. But if we join with each other, we are the solution. MW can unite us.
