The jr. high texted us one day & said there would be heavy police presence at school because of a threat they "thus far" believed was unsubstantiated. I took my 12 y/o granddaughter out of school, but she sat at home worried about her friends who's parents didn't pick them up.

As a parents of a kindergartener and a preschooler, it’s something that crosses my husband and I’s mind every day our boys are in school.

Sometimes I think people don't have empathy anymore but I think it is precisely our empathy that makes us shut down & try to shut out these problems. It's too much to deal with when you can't see a solution. But if we join with each other, we are the solution. MW can unite us.
