As a child psychologist & parent to 5 foster children, I can say that even abused & neglected children placed into & raised in safe, loving, nurturing homes carry deep emotional wounds that can take a lifetime to heal. I can't even imagine the depth of the wounds for these kids.

I volunteer for an org that transports animals across the country to loving homes and/or no-kill shelters. Most of the time, animals are NOT treated as well as humans; however, in this situation, the animals are treated better than these foster children. We can do better.

And their very real anxiety. My kids have fragile x premutation. 1 in 350 do. Their mitochondria is very susceptible to pollution everywhere. It very really increases anxiety and depression.
