Rugged individualism is a good thing, a core American value that leads many people to actualize their dreams. But over the last few decades rugged individualism has too often become rugged narcissism. Our goal should be to soar AND do everything possible to help others soar too.

Corporations have reduced the value of community. Divide and conquer w the goal of profit over people. Every generation since the industrial revolution has been conditioned to put $ and self interest before community. This isn’t sustainable-demonstrated by the growing wealth gap

Our goal should be to elevate others! This rugged individualism is not going to sustain the human race! We are meant for communion and should strive to maintain this sense of community in everything we aspire for! When we help others we ultimately help ourselves!

Don't think its a good thing at all. At its core, it leaves people behind (always poor people of color) and causes grind culture to continue to thrive. Community care is the way. Interconnectedness.
