Getting their lobbying dollars out of govt will make a difference. Also Federal funding for national campaigns. Also a shift in consciousness so that we do not view the MIC and our military and defense force as one and the same - they’re not. These are steps in the rut direction.

As someone who lives in a district where our Congressman keeps his position by posturing like he's the reason the local shipyard gets contracts, I get why it's not more of a focus. They have many regions by the balls our economies are dependent on them.
In reality even if we stopped the war machine the ships will still be needed, even for missions of peace and providing aid. Though that doesn't translate to all facilities. Still maybe with UBI and the new opportunities that could grow from it, we could break that dependency.
