I can acknowledge how shameful and despicable something was but, if it occurred generations, or centuries, before I was born, I will not be held responsible for it.

I'm no Williamson fan. But I agree that the racism that still exists today has roots that extend to times of slavery. It is morally noble to want to stop racism.
It's interesting how most European leaders are so willing to accommodate Islamist violence anywhere in the world but get all grave faced about Israel using settlements to strengthen their hand to secure their existence.
