Today would have been John Lennon’s 79th birthday. His absence from our lives over the last few decades has been an immeasurable loss. Doing anything we can to increase peace and love in the world is the highest form of praise we can give to the spirit he unleashed in our midst.

Sounds great. But how does a guiding principle of "military intervention is justified whenever the 'humanitarian order' is violated" result in 'goodness?' For that matter, how is it any different from the comprehensive perspective of our current foreign policy establishment?

Thanks for responding, I appreciate it. Peace cannot be achieved by indefinite military occupations of foreign countries, no matter how noble your ideals. This year, an American kid born AFTER 9-11 will likely die in Afg. Obscene. You could make a difference, but not like this.

I have sympathy for politicians who inherit other people's wars. But Williamson said Obama should have sent forces into Syria & that she agreed with the US going into Afghanistan. I don't understand how that at all squares with her (necessary) peace-driven plans & messaging.pic.twitter.com/8PvJab5tth
