I understand the hesitation. I've been on the fence but the more I educate myself about it, the more I am for it. I think as a society we make up our minds about some things too quickly.

And there's tons of time before Nov. 2020; Reparations are unpopular but Marianne (rightfully) believes they're important & works tirelessly to bring people around. I believe she can do the same with M4A. People don't like private insurance; they just want to know they're covered

The fact that no one in countries with some form of single payer healthcare (not even on the right wing) campaigns on privatizing healthcare should be a clue.

I believe it is a matter of education. Just like educating people about slavery is a cornerstone of MW’s bold reparations plan, that too could be her goal in presenting a bold M4A. Both plans are ultimately better for the health of the American people.

That's exactly right. People on the left I talk to with reservations about M4A have almost always been misinformed and/or have fears about the policy that would apply more to a public option than single-payer. It just requires patience & honesty.

Thanks for engaging! When 1 Democratic primary candidate supports M4A, a couple waffle on it & all the rest say it's unrealistic, it creates doubt & fear. If more Dem leaders can present M4A as the BEST healthcare for everyone without premiums or deductibles, they'll come around.

Senator Klobuchar said 149 million would lose their insurance. We've had other candidates tell union workers that they'd lose their coverage. Obviously, M4A would immediately insure all of them at the highest level. We just have to unite & make more people aware of the benefits.

I agree. The foundation of this country is about freedom of choice. We just have to put these insurance companies in their place and make sure we make our free health care the best it can be. But we need a moral leader to make sure of that.

Yes, that’s tough - I wish those who were so focused on what THEY want could think about the rest of us who need this. I am a functioning productive member of society yet struggle to get coverage. And I’m a fortunate one! Don’t they realize how the uninsured impact their rates?
