When 40% of our people live in chronic economic anxiety, something has gone terribly wrong. Trump didn’t create the problem; he’s a product of it. That’s why we have to do more than prosecute a case against Trump; we have to prosecute a case against the system that produced him.

They are supposed to check each other, yes, but I have watched the office of the Presidency morph into quite a unilateral monster, especially in the wake of 9/11. Bipartisan obstructionism in Congress has only hardened that monster.
I don’t entirely disagree, particularly with this president. Just making a distinction between what has happened to the system and how it was actually designed.

Heard, understood and acknowledged. Though this president is simply utilizing the tools his 2 predecessors have provided him. Immediate precedent seems to be the only thing that matters anymore.

Glad you’re able to acknowledge this system isn’t about giving power to a small group of people. I think a lot more politicians should read the most important part of any document that’s been created in the history of America: “We the people” we grant the ability to represent us
