You don't deserve for you or your family to be disrespected in that way so I'm also very sorry that happened. I can see that it made you very upset, rightfully so, and I feel for you. Much respect to your father's legacy.

Thanks. Friends? I will totally follow you.

I apologize to you, the human being, for any pain, because political figure concepts are one thing, but people are another. I have been deeply hurt by some of your defenders but others have been wonderful to engage with. I'm not backtracking on telling dad's sad experience, but

I was the first to reply (and also to @ Ms Williamson) and thus the catalyst for this thread and I apologize to you, Ms Rue. I in no way wanted to insult you and got a lot of backlash and abuse for my statements here as well...

Yeah, you did fine! The OP was made in a similar context and if I had been more careful and thoughtful of the explosion I would have worded it differently and explained where the feeling was coming from.

It is not meant to be a smear but a story, and I apologize for how far it got. My father was deeply hurt by patients saying they were quitting treatment because they were told by Return to Love that the belief in medicine is what made it work so they therefore could stop taking

it and not have to worry about it. I was just telling an experience, and yes, it was probably harsher than it should have been. I did not expect it to blow up as it did and it was written from a point of pain. However, the abusive responses are far beyond necessary.
