Some things don’t get any less wrong even after a hundred years. I am a recent white immigrant to the US but I know the family I married into and accept this debt. 500 billion over 20 years though? We paid that much to bail out the banks in ONE year.

That’s not enough. There has been a new graph that shows that number should be sitting around 17.1 Trillion dollars.
-
Yeah but I believe that number would wreck our economy.

I support reparations for all African Americans. I support healing our trauma. I support a politics of love. We love you, Marianne

I don't think money is going to heal what happened. I think stepping up the game with making black history not in a separate category as American history. I think teaching black history k-12 not just on black history month. I think making that a priority is how we make it right.

this is honestly -- not what liberals want to be talking about Talk of reparations in the 21st century is asking tax payers to contribute to a "white guilt" money bag. This is a wrong campaign strategy; it should be reframed as a "combat poverty" campaign.
-
Reparations honestly can’t be paid purely with cash anyways. A complete reform of the criminal justice system, tax forgiveness, business loans and opportunities, Home buying incentives, higher learning, and money for schools would work better and you won’t have to pay anything
