I propose reparations as opposed to simply “race-based policies” because they carry with them an inherent mea culpa. They are an inherent acknowledgment of a wrong that has been done, of a debt that is owed, and a willingness to pay it.

Native Americans already have certain provisions set up by the U.S government & have had them for a while. Whether it's enough reparations for the Native Americans isn't my place to answer, they have a different claim. Their claim shouldn't be brought up in our discussion

Whilst I agree in theory, respect you highly, how exactly do you plan on doing this? If we were speaking financially, the task would be impossible; or so very watered down that each African American would get mere cents. I'd be for changing how we treat humans, moving foward.

USA already pays reparations to multiple groups (Jews, Native American & Japanese). The task wouldn't be impossible at all, it can easily be spread out over decades. We're talking a multi generational project that's inclusive of closing the Racial Wealth Gap, not a 1x thing
