Well said and agreed. So the interesting question, "group" identity is as alive and well as it's ever been...is it fair to say that in it's current state it's lost effectiveness?
I suppose in some ways yes but in other ways no. There’s a lot of disuniting going on now, but a lot of uniting as well. The plates are shifting beneath our feet.

1/2 So long as uniting is as intended in your original definition. Disunite in some ways bothers me less as it's being driven by forces now being illuminated (social media, 24 hours news cycle, etc.) which folks are becoming wiser to.
