Thank you Marianne. Can you please clarify for me what you mean by the word ‘distract?’ For me in mindfulness we are ‘aware of what’s happening around us eg in this case the ‘holiday’ AND at the same time ‘reflect’ it’s significance. Distract can polarise - maybe?

I see it more as it's a political season where politicians feel obliged to wear their patriotism on their sleeves. You too. It has been this way for years.

I think those in public eye & those running for public office ought to make public statements today. This holiday is part of our national heritage - too significant not to wear our patriotism on our sleeves. Maybe better for
