Would have loved to see the tweet if Kavanaugh's wife was not at his sidehttps://twitter.com/Sulliview/status/1044313932419268608 …

wow... holy shit... that may need some unpacking. it comes across an an apology for fascism
-
Just an observation.

if someone wrote that Communism is the logical conclusion of the Right going too far, wouldn't that strike you as a little odd?
-
Not at all. A lot of truth to it.

Isn't a victimization narrative the vehicle that fascists use to justify their actions?

All kinds of super awful stuff is the result of ppl deciding nothing will stop xyz but force. Once you’ve made that decision, there’s nothing left to say. Nothing left to think about or talk about. Just the violent deed itself to be carried out.

This tweet’s tribal af. I think the left is getting more authoritarian/tribal for similar reasons. They think nothing will stop fascism but force. Really we’re just tearing at the seams and people are justifying their own radicalism by blaming everyone other than themselves.
-
Many on the left are starting to embrace violence again. Fascists and the alt right use democratic norms to subvert democracy from within. I don't agree with Antifa tactics, but they are a natural response to thuggish right wing provocation.
-
The hard right thinks the exact same thing, only switch the ideology. We should treat all partisan violence as illegitimate and wrong. Plus... these violent actors are sloppy with who they hurt. The guy who was hit by the antifa professor with the bike lock was a Ben Shapiro fan
-
I understand your point about the right feeling the same way, but the hard right has a long history of violence, where the left hasn't since the early 70's. You see Antifa coming out of the shadows because of the legitimisation of the white nationalists and neo fascists.
-
The early ‘70s was in living memory for several people. You’re right to some extent, but at a minimum I think left wing violence is contributing to a feedback loop making right wing violence worse.
-
Antifa members getting into street brawls with Nazi's is regrettable, I take it into historical context. When you start to see leftists embrace the 2nd amendment like the Black Panthers or the Weather Underground, thats a recipe for things to get real ugly. Lets all stay civil

Fascism is what happens when Anarcho-Syndicalists take over large pieces of a major country like Spain and Italy. Equating the modern left with radical movements of the 19th and 20th century is ridiculous.
