7/ The women were always there, but lurking in the shadow of Jones. The truth was that as Jones became increasingly incapacitated by drugs and paranoia, the inner-circle of women ran the commune and played a large, perhaps decisive, role in the decision to commit mass suicide.

It should also be noted that there is a big difference between 1) “postmodernism” as descriptive analysis of the state of things after the death of God and the atrocities of the 20th C—namely, no more grand narratives and the project of universalist liberal modernity...

...or holding onto the ones we’ve still sort of got (e.g. “objectivity” in science) will only result in more oppression, and therefore the only answer is a retreat to tribal identity politics, relativism, mistrust of all authorities/experts, and ultimately a kind of nihilism.

What strikes me as the possible driving force behind the drive for deconstruction and post modernism is the female demiurge reasserting itself because of an imbalance between the male and female.

In sum, postmodernism is a tool, not an ideology. Postmodernists on the other hand are those who weaponize it to not merely uplift "diverse voices" to overthrow elite oppression, but to inherit the very place of those oppressors as the final end.
