I almost just want to revise my list down to just Shestov (and Girard, and Lovecraft). Pretty much all else can be derived from them. Postmodernism is Shestov + Marx. Taleb is Shestov + Math. Admittedly, I don't know McLuhan, Jung, Campbell, PKD or Wyndham Lewis well enough yet.

Just read McLuhan’s “Understanding Media” or the book “Essential McLuhan.” A helpful guide is also “Digital McLuhan” by Levinson.

The Canadians have a fantastic off-beat intellectual tradition that's produced some of my favorite work. McLuhan & Innis in media studies, Northrop Frye's lit crit (esp on Blake), Eric Havelock, and (less interesting to me but worthy of mention) Heorge Grant and Charles Taylor
