Happy teacher's day to my mother and sister. More than 60 years of teaching between the two of them! That's tenacity. Thanks to all teachers for the young lives changed.

I've been to the Middle East more than 20 times and to Iran's next door neighbor Iraq 15 times. I am qualified to stay that today's decision by the President will destabilize the region. It is likely to empower Iran.

John McCain says “To fear the world we have organized and led for three-quarters of a century, to abandon the ideals we have advanced around the globe, to refuse the obligations of international leadership...is unpatriotic,”

This long article talks about kickbacks in the form of lecture fees to over-prescribing doctors. We must rein in those drug manufacturers who engage in unethical activity and we must discipline doctors who abuse patient trust by over-prescribing.

Speaking of the Republican corporate tax cuts"....there’s no evidence whatsoever that the money’s been massively poured back into the American worker..." That's what Republican Senator Marco Rubio thinks. Time to vote for everyday Americans.

A trade war, if it happens, will be bad for Tennessee's First District and most rural counties in America. Agricultural products are a likely target for retaliation.

Contest every district. Trust rural voters. They know what a swamp is. They know it hasn’t been drained. They know it’s getting deeper and the alligators are getting richer!

Still waiting for my campaign's first inkling of support from the DCCC. By the way, I'm unopposed in the primary, and every dollar sent to the campaign will go toward defeating my likely opponent, the Republican incumbent.

One good comprehensive opioid bill would be better than 30 piecemeal bills. Don't forget the individual human beings and families affected by this epidemic. The patients I take care of haven't gotten much from any current programs so far.
