This weekend I'm celebrating what makes our city so great – our people – by attending neighborhood block parties, visiting farmer’s markets and BBQs, and celebrating safe neighborhoods. I invite all residents of Boston to join me in doing the same.

As I've said, a "Straight Pride" Parade won't overshadow the tremendous role Boston plays in the national movement for equality. We will continue to be a leader in the fight for civil rights.

Let's continue to turn our backs on hatred, using our voices to continue spreading the message of love.

Hello, I’m a trans women and was a nonviolent protestor against straight pride. Would the city’s plans for inclusion, love, and acceptance include a new pair of prescription glasses to replace the ones that got shattered when a cop punched me in the face yesterday?
-
Because, in this case, it actually wasn’t the Straight Pride people assaulting us, it was the City.

I saw a whole lot of cops targeting folks standing up for inclusion, love, and acceptance. You allowed the parade, then had riot cops out to take on peaceful protest.
-
Antifa thugs are not peaceful protesters. Only cowards with evil intent come masked to a "protest" They are masked because they intend to break the law. Pretty cool how the first thing the police did was unmask them. Good police work, unlike in Portland!

one really neat thing about Boston is how its police bikes double as blunt weapons to assault protesters with!
-
Self-described “car guy” likes to weaponize bikes. He set cops to harass young people of color on bikes in the ‘17 J’Oubert parade to menace a political opponent.
