We'll obviously keep investing in the UK and EU. Like it or not, tech has no borders.

I'm reading this great book from the 60s about urban design and there is a whole 30-page chapter with all the reasons why NYC sidewalks were the best place to let children play on their own. Was that a thing then? What happened to that? Can't quite see it happening today

To succeed, entrepreneurs need regulators who enforce rules that are fair, predictable and keep pace with change. Actions by CMA expose a flawed approach that is hurting startups, discourages investment and undermines UK’s standing in tech. By

The UK has been the best country in Europe for VCs to invest in fast-growing tech companies. But the recent approach taken by the CMA is putting the local ecosystem and its international investments at risk. Here is why:

These numbers tie in with the just announced results of the consultation for liveable streets in Tower Hamlets. When you ask local residents, turns out they actually widely support reducing road traffic

The speed at which public sentiment is turning negative on car use in cities is mind-blowing. This is the new smoking. 3/4 now think we should reduce car use and road building. Double digits percentage points changes to most questions in only two (!) years. Cc

Nearly 100M people in Europe work in small to medium enterprises (SMEs). Yet these are the very same businesses that have been most poorly served by software. Not any longer, as the story of shows, writes.

It's hard to believe how underserved European SMEs still are. Great to see top entrepreneurs like dedicate their time and energy to building better tools for them. The 100m people they employ desperately need them!

We and published our report exactly 5 years ago: . Today France has become the best big country in Europe for its visa and stock options regime. Everything's now in place for it to start attracting the best talent from everywhere 🇫🇷

Spot on. The European software market is now deep enough to create continental giants focused on specific verticals. With very significant barriers to entry for non-local players (regulation, cultural differences, etc.). Welcome @IlliCopro to the family! 👋🏻

And I actually did promote the poll to the broader UK population, so the majority of the votes doesn't come from my immediate following, to reduce the obvious early adopter tech bias.

So after 1,000 replies it turns out that half of the people haven't been to their bank's local branch in over 1 year, and a third haven't been in the past 3 years! This is your minimum addressable market for neobanks right there. Half of the (twitter) population and growing.

I'm asking bc according to latest neobank report, 65% of bank customers say it's important to have a branch and 25% would not even open an account at a bank without one. But I can't even remember last time I went to mine.

What's even more unbelievable is that 1. Escooters are still illegal in the UK, and 2. Boroughs like can ban ebike sharing schemes altogether, depriving their citizens of better transport for no good reasons.
