Memories are organized by their spatial study context. These contextual features are being reinstated with distinct time courses in hippocampus and surrounding MTL, while theta power increase is common to these regions!

This neuroimage alert is crazy: a cool new tool "zapline" to effectively remove line-noise. Looks super promising - I had no luck in the past with tools like cleanline etc.

My blogpost on how & why we use convolutional neural networks as a model of the visual system is probably the most read thing I've ever written and it's now been expanded & updated into a proper review article, complete with 136 references & 5 new figures!

AMD’s recent generation of EPYC processors is very powerful, but apart from lower per-core performance relative to Intel I’m concerned about MKL for numeric operations, the default BLAS in anaconda. Any experience / recommendations?

Boundary extension is not universal - contractions are actually more common for scenes. These transformations are predictable by image properties, and happen even in a perceptual task. New paper by me and now out in :

Annoyed when your text formatting changes during copy&paste (e.g. in gmail)? On Mac, shift + option + cmd + v pastes without formatting.

Made something that some people might find useful: Pandoc/PDF is a package for the Atom editor that makes it possible to use Pandoc directly from an editor pane to create a PDF, and to view that PDF in another Atom pane.

This is finally out there! I tortured my kid by putting a headcam on him for years as a toddler (not all the time, I hasten to clarify) and this is the result! With , Jess Sullivan, and , some of whom tortured their children similarly 🙂
