This. You never know what is going on with someone so just find something else to comment on other than their appearance.

Love seeing people for the first time in a while who are like 'ooh, you look different, did you change your hair?' when in fact the answer is that I had a mastectomy

Are there any email newsletter tools that are no frills but allow high numbers of subscribers with minimal costs? Pricing seems to get very high quickly with subscribers in the tens of thousands. (Is for a no budget volunteer org).

Great to be able to share our work on this today and to hear about some fascinating local and national biological recording work. We've been inspired to start submiting nature records ourselves as a result of being involved in this project and hope more people do the same!

Great article. I so recognise this feeling of moving from plant blindness to a sudden richness and lovely familiarity and feeling of care as you learn about your natural environment. I spend a lot of time examining verges and hedgerows and path edges and it's always fascinating.

I've been playing around with building a site in Wix today and the wysiwyg interface is extremely annoying and it feels like I'm making very messy html behind the scenes. Should I have built from scratch rather than use a template?

The combination of these tools with books, but also and especially making the most of local knowledge, talking to people about plants, joining nature groups, going on local walks, foraging classes etc, this is where you learn how it all fits together.
