    We buy bigger and bigger cars and demand the roads be changed to accommodate them, with society picking up the cost and space taken from other road users. Most of the time we don't even question this - it's just how it is.

    Discussion "highlights the importance of making precise estimates of R early in a pandemic. Further research should focus on refining methods that allow for early, robust estimates of R". We MUST measure R0 to inform strategy- random testing or mandatory phone apps for all? 2/2

    1. I've never had a hard time sleeping. But the past three nights I have slept a total of 3 hours. I'm writing this so I can sleep. I am very angry. And I've realized during that having the space to be angry is a privilege because many people are too busy being terrified.

    Ryanair refunded my flight on their website with a couple of clicks.

    Cancelled flights Passengers’ rights rules stipulate a cash refund within a week Both easyJet and British Airways say they will comply But they have removed the online refund option easyJet says “Claim a refund through our contact centre" BA says “Customers will need to call us”

    current policy is v. short term. Vital to start random testing of population & statistical analysis asap, to inform sensible policies for minimum loss of life and economic destruction over whole episode. end/

    Current social distancing measures can only last for so long before economic hardship and social unrest force relaxation. Imperial Uni modelling predicts higher peak than ‘do nothing’ scenario when social distancing measures are removed. Massive problem next winter! 4/
